About this idea
Stackable modules will allow plant producers to replicate thousands of disease free plants - not in hundreds of square feet of foreign lab space, but in 8 square feet of their own greenhouse, warehouse, or garage space - all at HALF the cost of other solutions. This is the first alternative to expensive lab-based practices dating back over 70 years.
Impact
Once this method works, Rebel Cultures will have developed the future standard of plant propagation. The production of enough plants would advance critical research, human health and equity, and environmental sustainability far beyond today’s benchmark.
What I'll do with $5,000
Rebel Cultures will use the $5,000 to manufacture the first redesigned prototype unit for testing and gaining customer traction through demonstrations. Our small business has developed two prototype versions to-date, and this final unit will be the test and demo unit for our first sale-ready product. major improvements will include updated door design, advanced circuit board for cord reduction, decreased size for better density, easier controls accessibility, better overall maneuverability, and updated housing around new grow light. It will be used to replicate plants at our trial site, and serve as the model for video and on-site demonstrations for customer acquisition and growth.
