This is an idea I’ve been waiting for a decade to accomplish. My hope is that, as a single mother whose children have found their independence, it will help to inspire people to follow their vision, no matter what it is. That there’s no one path to follow, no one right way to live life, and to give permission to myself to fall in love with this country again, and inspire others to do the same.
The biggest demographic will be those who can relate to my stories, and hopefully those who may have judged a similar life. I grew up in an impoverish part of rural Tennessee and spent most of my youth living in a trailer with my single mother and older brother. It was because of social welfare programs and a strong community that I was able to provide for my children, finish college, start a business, buy a house, and find the confidence to step away from my stable life to follow a dream.
