About Idea

We’ve approached solving this problem by combining our own experiences as farmworkers with the professional career experience we’ve gained working in the public and private sector. As domain experts, we understand what will have an impact on the pain experienced by workers and employers. We’ve established key partnerships at the local, state, and federal level with national programs that connect with farmworkers and employers ready to help promote AgHelp to thousands of employers and workers in Michigan and across the country.
Benefits for farm workers:
reduce time and travel expense
greater earning potential by finding work throughout the year
improved living and working conditions
increased safety and security knowing where to find support agencies

Benefits for farm employers:
obtain needed labor to maximize harvest / avoid unpicked crops
attract workers by promoting wages, living conditions, and crop status
save significant money being wasted recruiting workers inefficiently

Michigan is home to over 50k farms, many of whom rely on hand labor to help produce, harvest, pack, and process hundreds of commodities. AgHelp will be a key low-cost method for Michigan’s agricultural employers to help harvest crops, maximize available labor, and attract and retain this labor pool in Michigan.
With AgHelp we plan to fill and create, thousands of new jobs in the agricultural sector every year.

What I Will Do With $5,000

We’re currently developing the platform, which will be ready for launch in October of 2018! Five thousand dollars will help go towards:
A national marketing campaign targeting employers in the states where the season is just beginning

About Feliciano Paredes

I was born in San Antonio Texas. I traveled with my family to Michigan every year, until the age of 18, picking crops in Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Ohio, and Michigan. I've spent the last 15 years working in the public and private sector helping Michigan's agricultural community. I come from a family of 8, all of who experienced growing up and working, in the fields.
