The most exciting part of this idea is that we are helping make the world a better place by keeping seniors happier and healthier in their own homes! We do this by providing family and agency caregivers with a daily task and wellness tracker that uses ai to provide patient-centered preventative health insights. This is different from the competition because it is a comprehensive suite of products. Users are able to log tasks and daily wellness, receive preventative health insights, share moments (Pictures & Status Updates) with the family and other loved ones, and benefit from community support with other caregivers around the globe. We will start as an application for family caregivers, then an app for agency caregivers. Later we can build for independent seniors. Major roadblocks are HIPAA compliance and liability from preventative health insights. These can both be navigated through the HIPAA Compliance Toolkit (we already have) and strong terms of service and user agreements.
Every year, Medicare spends $470 billion annually taking care of seniors in their final years of life. Care today is focused on reactive care instead of taking a preventative care approach.
Target Market: 43.5 Million unpaid and untrained family caregivers/33,000 home health agencies
Families who live far away from their elderly loved one - can ensure the safety and quality care of a loved one “One picture is worth 10 days of stress.” We can reduce guilt
Seniors stay happier, healthier, longer
What I Will Do With $5,000
Of the $5,000 grant, $1,750-2,000 will go directly to putting our User Agreements and Terms of Service in place (We Received a quote from FosterSwift in Lansing). This will allow us to start testing our mobile web application at a larger scale and people outside of our network. The remaining $3,000 will be used to hire a Xamarin Developer (a platform that allows you to develop both Android and IOS applications simultaneously) to develop our mobile application.
