Youth involved in the arts have an increase in both personal and interpersonal skills, including family relationships, peer relationships, community interaction, increase our skills, confidence, understanding, problem solving etc.
The importance of linking micro level effects on individuals to the more macro level on the community increases the capacities of art organizations, thus providing the community with resources/opportunities to learn how to work in consulting coordinate with other organizations and government bodies in order to accomplish their goals.
Being that both the arts and culture sector and the public safety sector do share common goals that are associated with reductions in violence and criminal activity, it is important to continue seeking to promote further collaboration and learning between the creative and public safety sectors. Doing so will positively impact not only neighborhood livability, but also economic development, civic engagement, and greater resiliency

youth arts programs contain activities that are designed to reduce the influence of risk factors by providing opportunities for youth to learn new skills and by recognizing individual youth’s efforts in turn, promotes bonding, which helps youth cope with the negative influence of risks they may face To provide local residents and area visitors of all ages, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds and education levels with a free and accessible outlet for entertainment in the Flint community.
