Bee Joyful Reusable Food Wrap

I believe the most exciting aspect about my idea is the opportunity it gives people to do something to help our planet. Plastic pollution is a serious threat to the environment. Each use of Bee Joyful reusable food wraps reduces the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills or in oceans. Our food wraps are used in place of plastic cling wrap or plastic zip baggies, that can’t easily be recycled. Our 3 piece set cuts down on approximately 1,000 pieces of single use plastic per person per year. The food wraps last about 1 year depending on use and at the end of their life cycle they can be composted and will break down in about 5-6 months. It not only saves the environment by reducing plastic waste, it also saves money by reducing the amount spent replacing single use plastics. Our price point is lower and the sizes are larger than others on the market. I believe making the wraps more affordable encourages sustainability. My biggest roadblock is getting the word out about the product.

My product is a win for all! Plastic pollution is a serious epidemic endangering the planet. Nothing that we use for minutes should pollute the earth forever. Bee Joyful food wraps reduces the amount of plastic discarded in our environment, and that’s a win for all creatures living on land and in the sea. Plus, people using my product save money by reducing the amount of plastic bags and wrap they buy. The real potential is saving people money while saving our planet at the same time.

What I Will Do With $5,000

The 5x5 prize money of $5,000 will be spent on new equipment that will allow us to increase production and also help us to broaden our wholesale distribution. We are in need of two more waxing stations, improved recycled/compostable packaging materials, increased marketing efforts and we will expand our organic fabric line.
