Dogs Butler is a transportation and mobile daycare concept, designed to offer a convenient alternative to driving your dog to daycare yourself. The mobile daycare provides a calendar of events, aimed at taking dogs out of the city and into nature with four-legged friends.
The service is unique in GR, with no direct competitors and my market and consumer research tells me people want a service like this.
I have secured partnerships with three key residential management companies (Rockford, Colliers, 616 Lofts) and a daycare and boarding partner ‘Whiskers’ in Kentwood. The companies are excited to offer my services to residents and believe they will drive new tenancies for people looking for convenient dog care, in an apartment setting.
I need to drive visibility of the brand with marketing, which requires funding. I also need investment to help expand booking capacity on the bus. Winning 5x5 would give me the capital I need to make the concept a reality.
Convenience services can be key considerations for people relocating to GR, particularly to the downtown. Currently 45% of downtown residents have dogs and many drive daily / weekly to doggie daycare providers, which can take unto 45 minutes each way.
Dogs Butler will save residents time, give dogs much needed socializing and exercise, offer apartment buildings a unique service and make GR an attractive relocation destination for dog owners. it will also help reduce drivers’ carbon footprint.
What I Will Do With $5,000
New businesses need to be heavily marketed and that costs money. The success and sustainability of a new business is very dependent on creating consumer awareness. I would invest the grant in targeted, managed marketing and PR. I also need to increase the capacity of available creates on the bus, which is currently limited to six. The grant would provide much needed funds to complete the interior of the bus and turn this unique idea into a sustainable business.
