Libraries, Public schools and even Private schools all spend a ton of money on technology. In today’s day and age, it is not only necessary, but it is also crucial to have up-to-date hardware and software for educational consumption. The problem is, where does that money come from? Most organizations have a technical budget, but it is largely insufficient. Our goal is to make it in to a huge investment. Our software aims to channel unused GPU and CPU potential while a public computer is idle, or when no one is using it, to generate crypto-currency for the organization. Our software works across all of the participating institutions as a “pool” to create an organized and profitable mining experience. In our preliminary models, the NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU card has the potential to pay for itself in a little under 2 years mining Etherum, and with a minimum life expectancy of 5 years, that computer can more than double the amount of money initially invested in it.
This program has the potential to benefit every user of an educational or public computer system in the world (think libraries, colleges, vocational and K-12) along with the institution providing these systems. Instead of spending $100,000 on mediocre computers you’re going to have to replace in 5 years, you can spend slightly more to get higher end equipment, and have that equipment actually generate revenue, potentially even doubling it, which can be used for other investments. Everybody wins!
