Approximately 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime and almost 90% of these women will have to undergo a mastectomy.

Women who have a mastectomy lose nearly all of their tissue and nerve endings, so it is nearly impossible for these women to keep their implants at body temperature. What’s worse is that although there are nearly 1.5 million women who are experiencing this right now in the united states, there are virtually no solutions. Women are told by their doctors to just put hand-warmers in the bras.
Elemental creates quality thermal bras designed with the needs of breast cancer survivors in mind.

The thermal bra is beautiful, comfortable, but most of all, it’s warm. With a multilayer design the thermal bra is proven to be up to 33% warmer than a typical bra. No wires, no medical apparatus, just a fashionable, functional bra that allows women to get back to doing the things they want to do.

Impact

Our primary market includes approximately 1.5 million women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have had prosthetic reconstruction after mastectomy. Breast cancer alone is extremely traumatic, physically, mentally, and emotionally but the thermal bra will give them a way to finally take their life back.
Throughout the year Elemental will be donating bras to women in need and blankets to patients in chemotherapy, who also find themselves cold during treatments.

What I Will Do With $5,000

Right now Elemental is kicking off production development to get our prototype to high end retail quality. This will put us in a position to launch our kickstarter campaign in October of 2018.  A $5,000 grant will go directly toward a kickstarter promotional video that will give customers all the information they need to make a purchase in confidence, including a self measuring demonstration for sizing.
