HumanKind Box

HumanKind Box is a collection of items specifically curated for the unique needs of young women facing cancer. Our boxes are for those newly diagnosed and the people who love them that want to “do something” but don’t know where to start.

Traditional gift shops don’t have the meaningful, purposeful, specific products we offer and usually target older women. Founded by a (two-time) survivor and her best friend, this is more than ginger tea and fuzzy socks. This is functional, practical, sometimes uncomfortable, but always necessary, gifts and self-love items for women who are facing cancer head on.

Impact

Our impact reaches from one survivor to another. From one best friend of a survivor to another. From a spouse, mother, sister, daughter, or co-worker who knows the awful reality of cancer and has asked the question “what can I do to make this better?” We offer a few things that might make a terrible situation a tiny bit better. Or at least a little easier to deal with. We are dedicated to giving love (in a box) to women who are hurting.

What I Will Do With $5,000

The incredible organization, Young Survival Coalition, is hosting a summit in March of 2020. We have been selected to be a vendor, but need the funds to get there! $5000 would pay for a presence at the event with a tradeshow booth and custom boxes specifically curated for the unique needs of young adults facing cancer. This would get the word out about HKB!

About Grace Murphy

Grace & Audrey are co-founders of HumanKind Box. Grace was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 while living in Boston. Audrey, living in Detroit, felt an overwhelming need to “do something” for her friend but had no idea where to begin. Traditional gift shops didn’t have a single thing that felt thoughtful or helpful in any way. With Grace's newfound "expertise", they joined forces and decided to create a place to find meaningful, appropriate, and purposeful items for women facing cancer.
