The most exciting thing about this idea is working with the youth and seeing the joy they get from playing music. It’s different from other competitors because at Kids on Keys, there is never one set lesson plan. It changes for each kid, depending on their interest and way of learning. We are also different because we provide in home lessons at a realistic and economical price. I don’t see any road blocks, especially because the arts are a priority in a lot of schools. If the community knows music lessons are assessable I know it will spark a lot of interest.
The youth benefits most from my idea because they get to learn a skill that they will never forget. There lives will change because they will always be able to play music as an outlet, pastime, or something fun to do. Kids on Keys potential is the sky! We can revolutionize the way the world looks at piano lessons, without taking the teacher out of the equation. We will make lessons assessable to all walks of life.
What I Will Do With $5,000
With 5,000 dollars Kids on Keys would have the capital to buy the proper equipment to teach. In our case that would be 2 upright piano for our studio. And 2 electric keyboards for in home lessons. For kids who just don’t have a piano yet. The rest of the money will go towards marketing. Grand Rapids needs to know about Kids On Keys! Marketing on social media with flyers, and promotional videos will be our priority.
