Lively Up Kombucha has been serving the West Michigan community low sugar craft kombucha since 2017. We are sold in over 65 stores in Michigan, a variety of grocery stores, breweries, coffee shops, restaurants and fitness studios. We work closely with our retailers to educate the public on the importance of consuming fermented foods and using food as medicine. In the summer we attend farmers markets and many events in the state to further educate the public and expose the art of fermentation. Our overall mission is to help revitalize, and grow a just food system in Michigan, primarily Muskegon.
While we have organically grown for 3 years, we believe it is time to expand our operations and open our space so we can host community classes, introduce a retail component for people to purchase directly, and increase production to accommodate demand throughout the state of Michigan.
Expanding our operations will allow us to develop more products, hire more staff and attend more events!
Kombucha has been around for over 3,000 years and there are many known health benefits to the libation. Introducing kombucha to local businesses not only provides the community a healthy, non alcoholic option and a great alternative to soda; but creates the space to introduce living, healthy foods into our food culture. As we grow, so does the community; the community grows in its involvement and in their health. We are proud to support and work with local farms and source ingredients directly!
What I Will Do With $5,000
With the $5,000 we are going to renovate our brewery to accommodate expansion in production 3x. This renovation will also allow us to host community classes in our brewery to teach the importance of fermented foods and the art of making it at home.
Our main renovation will be the moving and extension of our walk in cooler.
The remaining of the money after expanding our cooler will go towards special equipment such as kegs and packaging for new products.
