Roku is the US and World leader in On-Demand TV. There are over 38 million users per week, and average viewers spend over 50 hours per month on Roku channels.
West Michigan used to have a popular cable channel dedicated to real estate, but it was discontinued years ago.
I will initially publish a real estate channel to Roku that highlights homes for sale in West Michigan. Once I prove that it works, I will branch into other markets and niches.
I also own Roku Channel Names for several other geographic areas (Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Muskegon, Holland, Grand Haven, and others) and channels associated with Golf, Travel, Legal, Lake Michigan, Business, Dating, and other niches. Once I have proven that the local real estate channel is viable, I plan to expand into other real estate markets and grow the business.
With $5,000 I can enhance my hosting and software capabilities to allow for LIVE STREAMING of weddings, sports, conferences, etc. The possibilities are endless!
The home-buying/selling public can never get enough information about what’s available on the market… REALTORS and For Sale By Owners can never get enough exposure for their properties… my local Roku Channel(s) provide inexpensive access to MILLIONS of viewers at a very affordable cost.
My process will enable LOCAL individuals and businesses to market to GLOBAL markets, and while that may not apply to the real estate aspect of the business, it certainly will as we expand into other niches.
What I Will Do With $5,000
I purchased a “branded” software program that I am using for proof of concept. I also purchased accounts on Vimeo and a server, but they restrict my bandwidth.
I’ll use the $5,000 to:
* upgrade my Roku software to a “white label” version so I can operate under my own brand name. This version also allows me to sell channels to businesses who want a permanent presence on Roku!
* hire voice talent (or buy really good text to speech software)
* upgrade my hosting to allow streaming video
* buy music
