For people, companies, schools, and churches who are curious about the African culture, like experiences and hosting friends, at home or a private venue of their choice, we are a house concert that showcases live original African music, poetry, art and real life stories from African artists in an intimate and interactive setting.
We do not have any competition in the US or Canada. We are the only company that showcases a combination of African musicians and poets, different African music genres, real life stories from 3 different African countries in every house concert thereby, painting a real picture of Africa’s diversity. Because of our constantly changing line-up of acts and artists, we ensure a unique experience every single time. We offer a safe space for the audience to interact with the artists, ask questions and to get immersed in Africa’s cultural diversity. We bring African music, art and storytelling into your venue of choice - home, private venue or company.
Our mission is to bridge the cultural divide between Africans and the US, while empowering Africans and African immigrants financially and socially to integrate, fully participate and contribute to growing the economy. We plan on doing this one concert at a time.
Our concerts educate the community about the Africa and its diversity, which will help destroy stereotypes that hinder communication and fellowship between the immigrant communities and their communities of residence.
What I Will Do With $5,000
We will use $2500 to get the remaining equipment we need for a full band for top quality sound. We will save at least $1000 for an emergency fund for the business. $1000 will be used to build a website for Motherland House Concerts and the remaining $500 will be used to shoot videos and take photos we need for promotion.
