About Idea

Prior to the school shutdowns we were scheduled to do in-classroom workshops for 800 students. We decided to pivot take our program online. A singing robot, story writing, a science bird, Spanish learning, musical guests, kid chats, and more: “Wimee’s Words” became a web-based interactive LIVE kids show that encourages imagination, vocabulary building, and creativity using puppetry, music, and wordplay. Other online kids’ shows typically create episodes where kids are passive learners. We’re very excited about 1) the active engagement our show provides and the sense of community it fosters as viewers interact with the characters in real-time and share videos and photos of cool things they’re doing at home that get featured on the show and 2) the professional and effective live broadcast we provide. Many other live shows aren’t as fine-tuned. Our roadblocks: our computer and video editing capabilities are maxed out and malfunctioning, and we need to connect with a wider audience.

COVID-19 has turned all of America’s parents into home school teachers with no time to rehearse. As parents, we too recognized how challenging that can be and so wanted to provide a show that parents could trust and would help them be awesome partners to their kids’ learning. Our show impacts kids ages 3-12 through fun, active learning that engages their imaginations, inspires their creativity by seeing what other kids are doing, and helps them see themselves in others and feel less alone.
