The “Holy Grail” of e-commerce is Same-Day-Delivery.
The major e-commerce platforms (all of them), are unable to solve the Same-Day-Delivery Problem. After many lost-leader cities and metropolitan areas under “testing” for years now, their models don’t scale nationally or worldwide.
Fed-X Delivery Model: Their companies own the delivery vehicles, and everything else; and employee drivers = significant, liabilities. In addition, Amazon and other must have distribution centers strategically situated - worldwide. NOTE: As a rather desperate stop-gap measure Amazon has introduced “Amazon Locker Delivery.”
Domino’s Delivery Model: We do not re-invent the wheel. Our focus is on local merchants, so their business is the Distribution Center.-No need to build them. Merchants can opt-in to do deliveries simply by a few clicks on their Merchant Dashboard. We provide the technical structure, they provide their own drivers: Independent Drivers or Delivery Partners.
