Destinee was raised by a single grandmother who was a foster parent to numerous children. Having this nontraditional upbringing bolstered an awareness of the needs of people of color in her community. She has a passion for bringing attention to areas lacking in diversity, equity and inclusion within her community and is not shy to public speaking and vocalizes the necessity or equal access and policy change often. Destinee and her spouse have a passion for giving and do so through time, talent and treasures.
After loosing her job in 2015, with a leap of faith and encouragement from her community, Destinee and her spouse built their own business, “Kuntry Cookin’” which has become a reputable catering and food truck in the City of Muskegon.
