About this idea
Splendid Sprouts is using microgreens to challenge how food is grown, packaged, and accessed. We grow some of the most nutrient dense vegetables in the world using water based systems that require no soil, no chemicals, and far less space. But this is about more than growing. It is about setting a new standard for food that is clean, local, and forward thinking. We are building something built to grow with the needs of the future.
Impact
Splendid Sprouts is creating a local food model that supports health, protects the environment, and challenges the way food is grown and delivered. We make fresh, nutrient dense greens available in more places, while cutting down on waste and showing that small businesses can lead real change. Our impact is in proving that sustainable food can be scalable, accessible, and part of a better future for both people and the planet.
What I'll do with $5,000
We will use the funding to install an automated hydroponic system that allows us to grow more efficiently and meet increasing demand. This upgrade will support consistent crop cycles, reduce labor needs, and help us expand our reach across West Michigan. It is a key step toward scaling our mission while staying focused on clean food and sustainable practices.
