About this idea
The Spectrum Nest Center will be West Michigan’s first 24-hour respite care facility specifically designed for children with autism. Our center will offer personalized care plans, sensory-friendly spaces, therapeutic play, and trained staff who specialize in autism support. Unlike traditional childcare, we’ll operate around the clock to meet the real-life needs of families—whether they work late shifts, need emergency care, or simply need rest. Families will gain peace of mind knowing their child is safe, understood, and supported in an environment built just for them. This is more than care—it’s relief, growth, and hope under one roof.
Impact
The Spectrum Nest Center will ease the burden on families of children with autism by providing safe, 24-hour respite care tailored to their unique needs. It will reduce caregiver burnout, support child development, and allow parents—especially in underserved communities—to work, rest, and thrive. By filling a critical gap in services, the center will create a more inclusive and supportive community in West Michigan.
What I'll do with $5,000
With $5,000, we will take the first critical steps toward launching the Spectrum Nest Center. Funds will go toward securing a safe and sensory-friendly space for care.
