About this idea
This experience goes beyond your typical restaurant dining experience! This intimate and private dining setting allows for groups of people to come together and enjoy food and experience the company of others in a way that is not happening when we go out to dinner. With small groups as little as six or as many as twelve, connecting with others will be a breeze. But the best part about it all is the mystic! Once you sign up and join the supper club list, you are in and you have to pay attention to your text, email and social media to see when the next Supper Club is going to take place. Next you have to confirm that you will be attending then you will pay the fee to hold your spot and the menu will be sent to you. Two days before the dinner, the location will be sent and then its dinner time! Ohh, and you may not talk about work at Supper Club! Oh and One last thing, cellphones can ONLY be used to take pictures or video moments of the experience.
Impact
The impact comes with the food and the interactions. The four courses will be elevated dishes curated by the Supper Club Culinary Artist. Each course will be presented and each major ingredient explained. Participants will enhance their knowledge on food items and the stories behind how they came to life on their plates. Additionally, each course will prompt the participants to engage in a dialogue. The Culinary Artist will guide the participants through a series of questions for them to discuss as they wait for the next course! This outing allows us to dine more intentionally and more intimately. I believe that we all need to connect and reconnect with each other. Social media and technology tools have caused us to get too comfortable with disassociation, distance and disconnection. The next time you go to a restaurant, take a look around and see how many people are sitting together but primarily on their device. I want to create and curate an experience that fosters conversation, intimacy, connection, fun, exploration where we bring people to people, face to face and food to mouth! When a Supper Club is not taking place and with a growing community building, a podcast will be created that helps communities dive deep into food in their community and beyond. Streaming videos will be created on meal preparation, creative food ideas, cooking instructions, etc, Additionally, we will explore how to best utilize grocery stores, the power of farmers markets, visiting food pantries, using SNAP benefits, interviews with organizations and families. I understand that food brings people together and it has to ability to elevate our knowledge, relationships and our lives.
What I'll do with $5,000
The 5,000 will allow this idea to expand and grow from its current state. There is a need for food licensing, access to incubator kitchens, kitchen tools that need to be purchased to cook in intimate and smaller settings. From food warmers, electric cook top ranges, chaffing dishes, plates, forks , knives, glasses etc., and storage containers to safe carry all of these safely from place to place. We would need dollars for marketing material, printed and digital, website services, and podcast equipment as well.
Quick Bio
