We are The Green Leap, Michigan’s only urban farm that raises crickets and turns them into premium cricket powder. Because we oversee the entire process from farm to final product, we ensure quality, freshness, and sustainability at every step. Our powder is an easy way to boost your protein, vitamins, minerals and fiber daily intake to support better help. Just scoop it, sprinkle it, or mix it into your favorite food and get whole nutrition in one simple step.
Impact
We care deeply about our community and our planet. Supporting better health is the impact we want to create, starting right here in West Michigan. By offering a natural food alternative, we’re giving our community access to a convenient, nutrient-dense option to help fuel everyday wellness. But the impact doesn’t stop there. Our product also supports a healthier planet. Crickets are one of the most sustainable protein sources on Earth. They require significantly less water, land, and feed than traditional livestock, while producing fewer greenhouse gases and generating less waste.
What I'll do with $5,000
We currently sell our product at the Fulton St Market, but customers often ask us where else they can find us. These funds would help us take the next step: entering specialty retail stores and launching our online sales. • Nutritional label analysis — $2,000 A unique product needs a unique and highly specific nutritional label. • Equipment -$2,000 Upgrading our current grinder will increase our capacity and make our process more efficient. • Website development - $1,000 E-commerce store setup, wireframe development, and design improvements to create a better user experience on our site.

I’m Montserrat, co-founder of The Green Leap. Inspired by my Mexican roots, I transformed a basement-grown idea into a scalable, mission-driven sustainable food business.
