About this idea
By turning the back of my store into a learning center I hope to expand the community's interest in learning a new skill or enhancing a current one. Lowell has many talented artists who have shown an interest in holding classes for children, adults, seniors and the differently abled individuals. Our hope is to spread the love of art throughout Lowell and beyond.
Impact
Bringing out a person's creative side can improve self-esteem, increase creativity, foster cognitive development and promote better health. Engaging in the arts can improve concentration, motivation and confidence. Cultivating compassion, respect and tolerance will lead to a more inclusive and harmonious community.
What I'll do with $5,000
Classroom area will need a divider to separate it from the store. Ideally this divider will open completely when classroom is not in use. window coverings will be needed to block natural light for the mediums that require dimmer lighting. Current lighting will be updated to provide more consistent lighting for the mediums that will benefit from the absence of shadowing. Finally, tables and chairs are needed to give the students a place to work.
Quick Bio
Retired my career as a nurse due to long term effects of COVID. My health has improved but not to the point of going back to nursing. This led to my decision of bringing life to my log-awaited dream.
