We want to give underprivileged youth the creative outlet to tell their stories the way they see it through animations. We want to give them the opportunity to bring their imaginations to life. Growing up in Detroit, I understood first hand how the lack of resources hindered my potential as well as countless others. Which is why Animation discovery Studio is more than an educational institution. It’s a transformative Journey that resonates deeply with the struggles I faced growing up in poverty in Detroit. Through the magic of animation, we are igniting creativity, empowering minds, and unlocking opportunities.
Impact
Showcase the creative talent and potential of underprivileged youth in Detroit. Raise awareness about the importance of creative education and its impact on youth empowerment. Change the generational wealth gap earlier on for these youth.
What I'll do with $5,000
Secure an accessible and attractive event venue. Organize special animation workshops for underprivileged youth, providing them with the opportunity to create new animations to showcase. Develop marketing materials, including flyers, posters, and digital assets. Create a dedicated event website or landing page. Offer awards or prizes for the best animations created by youth participants. Hire a professional photographer and videographer to document the event. Create engaging content, such as videos and articles, highlighting the impact of the showcase and Animation Discovery Studio's mission.
