Impact
With predicted global food shortages and continued supply change challenges, expanding local food systems is increasingly important. Over 20 million Americans have started growing at least some of their own food since the start of the pandemic (via Forbes, 2021). There has been renewed interest in growing food along an increase online searches to find local food.
Traditional local food sources like farmer's markets and locally sourced distribution channels are great options for food producers who have built up their supply and distribution to meet those demands. For families growing food for their own use, there are few options to become a local food access point and build up a customer base. Farmish gives users a platform to sell their homegrown food and make money in a way that supports their current lifestyle while giving consumers more options to find and purchase food grown within their own communities.
We have had thousands of comments from users over the last few months thanking us for the app, sharing stories of making money from their hobbies for the first time, and plans to build businesses around the accessibility of Farmish.
What I'll do with $5,000
Nearly all our growth has been organic through TikTok, Facebook, and other social media channels. Between my personal content channels and our branded accounts, we’ve had millions of video views on Tiktok alone. Our team is experienced in digital advertising and we’ve been experimenting and testing paid advertising campaigns over the last few weeks. Our results are scalable and we are working to test out other paid traffic channels. The funds will go to scale the advertising campaigns and overall marketing efforts.
