Who doesn't want chili for a hot dog? Red Hots offers a chili sauce that is conveniently microwavable, and utilizes real ground chuck, onions, and garlic. We do not add any preservatives, additives, or colorings!

About this idea
Red Hots Chili started off as a family owned coney island located in Highland Park, Michigan. With the retirement of my parents inevitable, I decided to figure out how to package and sell the chili sauce. Currently, Red Hots Chili is a 4th generation, woman owned company that offers a 1 pound refrigerated, microwavable container of chili. While this has been a great start, we would love to expand. We want to be able to offer our customers a smaller option (8 oz container). Another item we sold at the coney was our secret spice! This is the spice blend used to make the chili. We would love to be able to package our spice to sell to our consumers as well!
Impact
The two main ways Red Hots Chili aims to be impactful is by using honest ingredients and supporting educators. Red Hots Chili is made with real ground chuck, onions, and garlic. There are no fillers, artificial flavorings or preservatives. You are feeding your family chili with real ingredients you could find on your shelves! The second way is through education. Since the beginning of Red Hots Chili, we have been supporting educators by offering a monthly $50 grant. Educators simply fill out a Google Doc and are entered in a monthly drawing. We then contact the winner and work with them to purchase an item or items they need for their classroom, office, or students! The larger Red Hots Chlii becomes, the more we are able to support educators!
What I'll do with $5,000
The money would be used to expand into our secret spice. I would be able to purchase jars, labels, boxes, and spice mix. A portion of this money would also be used to up our grant amount. For the 2022-2023 school year we would be able to offer a monthly grant of $100! If there is any remaining monies, it would be used to expanding our chili sauce to the 8oz container. Ideally I would like to start with the spice to give our consumers a dry good option that can be used for various food prep that they can incorporate into their own recipes!
