About this idea
Sticky Spoons is a black female veteran-owned small batch jam and preserve company. We produce unique flavors like blueberry lavender, lunar eclipse, just to name a few, that surprise and delight the taste buds. We source 95% of our fruits from small family-owned farms within a 30-mile radius of our location. By avoiding preservatives and artificial additives, we ensure that each jar bursts with genuine taste. Our small batch production model guarantees flavor retention at its peak. We have watched people sing, dance and in some instances use colorful language that we canā€™t repeat to describe how much they like our products.
Impact
Sticky Spoons creates products using fresh fruits and a limited addition of lemon juice and cane sugar. Our core values center around healthy eating, local sustainability, and the timeless artistry of hand-crafted foods. Many in our community are excited to have a wide variety of jam and preserve flavors that are authentic and in-line with a clean-eating diet (free from preservatives, artificial additives and high fructose corn syrup). Our mission is to produce and distribute jams and preserves, that showcase the distinct flavors of locally-sourced Michigan farm produce. By avoiding preservatives and artificial additives, we ensure that each jar bursts with genuine taste. Our small batch production model guarantees flavor retention at its peak. Whether enjoyed personally or used in commercial settings, our customers can rely on consistent quality.
What I'll do with $5,000
Marketing! We recognize that creating and launching a more robust marketing effort that will introduce digital out-reach and expand our face-to-face efforts in order to gain a wider customer base and expand beyond our current market, will positively impact our current growth strategy. Expanding our ecommerce initiative, by further developing our website and increasing our social media presence, will in turn open new markets that increase sales, thus revenue. We produce delicious flavors; whether enjoyed personally or used in commercial settings, customers can rely on consistent quality. However, our reach has been stagnant due to limited funds available to be allocated to a marketing strategy that introduces Sticky Spoons to new markets.
