Our goal is to reach families who are facing roadblocks and challenges in accessing the care and support their children need to thrive. We strongly believe that investing in a child’s abilities opens the door to endless possibilities. There is no greater reward than empowering a child to succeed and a family to feel supported.
This initiative will create a lasting impact on the community by fostering a healthier, happier future for both caregivers and children with disabilities. The origin of the word ‘autism,’ Takiwatanga, means ‘in their own time and space.’ How beautiful is that? With your support, we can help every child and family embrace their unique journey and discover their full potential.
What I'll do with $5,000
The $5,000 funding will be used to launch the Weekly Support Group Program for Caregivers of Children with Disabilities.
This specific project will include:
1. Venue Rental: Renting a safe, accessible space for the weekly meetings to ensure families feel comfortable and supported.
2. Guest Speaker Engagement:
Providing expert-led sessions featuring local therapists, ASD educators, and medical professionals to empower caregivers with actionable strategies.
3. Caregiver Scholarships: Offering one $1,000 scholarship for a family to cover therapy costs or purchase essential medical supplies.
4. Program Supplies: Purchasing
materials like informational handouts, snacks, and bottled water for participants.
