Impact
While there are programs in Grand Rapids offering job training or youth support, Blue Pathways Business Incubator stands apart by combining hands-on business ownership, leadership development, and certification opportunities all in one place. Unlike traditional programs that focus only on skills or employment, we empower youth to become entrepreneurs who create real businesses, boosting both their futures and the local economy.
Once Blue Pathways exists, the community will see more young people stepping confidently into leadership roles, launching small businesses, and filling critical workforce gaps in Grand Rapids. This creates a stronger, more connected city where youth donāt just surviveāthey thrive and lead. Our past success with graduating youth who started businesses and earned jobs proves we know how to make this work.
To take smart traction, a $5,000 investment will buy equipment, software, and certification fees needed to launch our first cohort, giving youth the tools to start earning credentials and building businesses. This is a strategic step to turn vision into reality and attract further support.
We invite everyone to visit our project page and vote to help us bring this vision to life ā together, we can create lasting change in Grand Rapids.
What I'll do with $5,000
With $5,000, we will invest directly in key tools and resources that build momentum and prove our impact in Grand Rapids. This funding will purchase essential equipment and software for youth training, such as laptops, business software licenses, and marketing materials. These tools are critical for giving participants real, hands-on experience running small businesses in areas like catering, event planning, and digital services. By equipping youth with these resources, we create a professional environment where learning turns into action.
Additionally, the funds will cover certification and licensing fees for youth participants, ensuring they earn recognized credentials by September 2026. This boosts their credibility in the job market and strengthens their business ventures. We will also allocate a small portion of funds to provide transportation support, removing barriers that might keep youth from attending training sessions consistently. This $5,000 will create visible results quicklyālaunching initial cohorts, connecting youth to local businesses, and generating success stories that attract further investment and community support. Itās all about building traction so Blue Pathways can grow sustainably and scale its impact in Grand Rapids.
