About this idea
Meknology uses enhanced vacuum evaporation to separate water from waste. In the case of brewers and distillers, that waste is then repurposed as enhanced biochar, distillers' dried grains, and potable water.
Impact
In 2021, the State of Michigan reported that there were 79 waterbodies with confirmed cyanobacterial blooms (HABs) in the Great Lakes. These blooms were part of a larger set of 144 waterbodies with complaints and/or investigations related to HABs. In 2024, NOAA found evidence of HAB in western Lake Erie. This technology will reduce contributors to these events. It will reduce the wastewater costs of breweries and distilleries. And lastly, it will actually generate revenue for them.
What I'll do with $5,000
