About this idea
NexoForge is developing a modular small-scale plastic-to-energy system using controlled pyrolysis to convert plastic waste into usable fuel. Unlike large industrial facilities, NexoForge is designed for localized deployment in communities, reducing landfill dependency while creating distributed fuel production capacity. The system focuses on thermal efficiency, controlled energy balance, and scalable reactor design. By addressing plastic waste at the local level, NexoForge aims to reduce environmental burden while creating opportunities for decentralized energy resilience. The long-term vision is to develop compact, manufacturable units that can serve municipalities, small industrial operations, and remote locations.
Impact
NexoForge reduces plastic waste by converting non-recyclable plastics into usable fuel through a controlled, small-scale pyrolysis system. By deploying modular units locally, communities can reduce landfill dependency while generating decentralized energy resources. The system aims to lower waste transportation costs, increase local energy resilience, and create opportunities for future job growth in deployment and maintenance. Long term, NexoForge seeks to transform plastic waste from an environmental burden into a recoverable energy asset through scalable engineering design.
What I'll do with $5,000
The $5,000 grant will be used to advance NexoForge from concept to technical validation. Funds will be allocated toward: • Bench-scale pyrolysis testing materials and reactor components • Thermal insulation and temperature monitoring instrumentation • Data acquisition equipment for energy balance testing • Safety controls and containment materials • Preliminary CAD modeling and engineering software costs The objective is to produce measurable performance data validating thermal efficiency and fuel yield, establishing technical proof-of-concept for further development.
Quick Bio
I am an early-stage founder focused on energy systems innovation and waste-to-energy technologies. My work centers on developing modular engineering solutions that address plastic waste.
