About this idea
Many large online therapy platforms and group practices attract clinicians with big promises — but once onboarded, therapists often face disappointing pay splits. On some virtual platforms, clinicians may earn as little as 40–50% of session revenue, leaving them underpaid. JC Counseling LLC takes a different route. We let our therapists keep 70–80% of their income while maintaining smaller, more sustainable caseloads. As a lean, virtual practice, we keep fixed overhead costs low. JC Counseling clinicians operates fully online, employs a part-time virtual assistant abroad for administrative support, and eliminates unnecessary expenses such as a clinical director or standing group meetings. Instead, consultation are available on an as-needed basis to support clinicians when they want guidance, collaboration, or help with complex cases.
Impact
This “no fluff” model keeps operations efficient and therapist-centered, ensuring more of each session’s revenue goes directly to the provider. The result is a sustainable structure that increases clinician satisfaction, reduces burnout, and enhances the quality of trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that clients receive. JC Counseling LLC’s impact begins with empowering experienced, fully licensed clinicians who are capable of working independently and are often discouraged by the restrictive systems of large group practices or online platforms. These therapists don’t need constant supervision or micromanagement — they need a fair, transparent structure that allows them to focus on what they do best: providing exceptional therapy. By eliminating unnecessary overhead and bureaucracy, JC Counseling gives clinicians a professional home where they can thrive financially and emotionally without the stress of running their own business. This model also benefits clients who often struggle to find consistent, experienced therapists who have the time and energy to offer personalized, trauma-informed care. When therapists are well-compensated, supported, and not overextended, clients receive greater attention, better continuity, and improved clinical outcomes. The ripple effect is a stronger, more sustainable mental health workforce serving diverse clients in a culturally attuned and compassionate environment.
What I'll do with $5,000
JC Counseling LLC will use the $5,000 to strategically expand its team and client reach. The first priority is paid advertising to recruit skilled, fully licensed clinicians who share our mission of providing compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care without the burnout common in traditional practice models. Once clinicians join the team, a portion of the funds will go toward credentialing them with insurance panels, allowing them to begin serving clients quickly and expanding affordable access to care across diverse communities. Finally, the remaining funds will support targeted digital marketing to help clinicians connect with clients seeking high-quality therapy services. By prioritizing clinician recruitment, onboarding, and client outreach, this investment will strengthen JC Counseling’s sustainable model — helping more therapists earn fair pay, maintain work-life balance, and deliver outstanding care to those who need it most.
