Impact
Livloco Co-op strengthens local economies by making it easier for people to discover and support businesses, farmers, and markets within their own community. Most small businesses and local producers struggle to compete with large online platforms that prioritize convenience over community. Livloco shifts that dynamic by giving the community shared ownership in the co-op and a starting point for entering and growing in the sustainability conversation without needing to have it all together before jumping in.
The impact is both economic and social. By helping money circulate locally, Livloco supports small businesses, encourages start-ups, and keeps resources within the community. It also reduces environmental impact by promoting shorter supply chains and more localized purchasing. Whenyour neighbot can pay their bills and provide for their children, everybody wins.
Beyond commerce, Livloco fosters stronger community connections. Neighbors become aware of what others around them are offering and needing, creating opportunities for career pivots, collaboration, mutual and resilience.
Starting in the Grand Rapids area, Livloco aims to become a replicable model for community-driven economic ecosystems that can scale to other regions while maintaining a strong local focus.
What I'll do with $5,000
The $5,000 will be used to launch and measure a focused pilot program in the Grand Rapids area to drive user and business adoption on the Livloco platform.
Funds will be allocated in three key areas:
Targeted Local Marketing ($2,000):
Digital ads and locally focused outreach campaigns to recruit early members, businesses, and market hosts. This includes social media advertising, local community groups, and promotional materials to build awareness and drive sign-ups.
Platform Scalability & Data Infrastructure ($1,500):
Support for increased usage during the pilot, including cloud storage and database capacity.
Marketing & Community Support ($1,500):
Provide a stipend for a local college marketing assistant who has committed to helping me grow community engagement, create content, and support outreach efforts during the pilot phase.
This funding will allow Livloco to test user adoption, refine the platform experience, and demonstrate early traction in a real community—creating a foundation for future growth and expansion.
