About this idea
YepBook replaces the front desk for appointment-based businesses with an AI-powered text messaging system. Instead of relying on phone calls, apps, or clunky booking pages, customers can simply text a business to book, reschedule, cancel, or ask questions—just like they already do in everyday life. Behind the scenes, YepBook automates availability, staff scheduling, confirmations, reminders, and waitlist management through a dedicated business number. Most small service businesses—barbershops, salons, tattoo studios, wellness providers—still rely on manual scheduling or fragmented tools that lead to missed calls, no-shows, and lost revenue. YepBook removes that friction by meeting customers where they are (SMS) and ensuring every inquiry is captured and converted into a booking, 24/7.
Impact
The impact is immediate and measurable: fewer missed appointments, higher booking conversion rates, and reduced operational overhead. Businesses can operate without being tied to a phone, while customers get a faster, more convenient experience without downloading apps or creating accounts. Longer term, YepBook becomes the system of record for customer interactions and scheduling, unlocking insights into demand patterns, customer behavior, and revenue optimization. By combining AI with a universal communication channel (texting), YepBook has the potential to standardize how service businesses interact with customers globally—starting with small operators and scaling into multi-location businesses.
What I'll do with $5,000
A portion will go toward targeted customer acquisition—testing channels like local outreach, digital ads, and partnerships with barbershops, salons, and service providers to identify the most efficient growth channels. We’ll also invest in onboarding improvements, making it faster and easier for new businesses to get set up and start accepting bookings via text within minutes. Another key area is product refinement. We’ll use funds to enhance the AI scheduling experience, improve reliability of messaging workflows (including confirmations and reminders), and build features that directly reduce no-shows and increase booking conversion rates. Finally, we’ll allocate part of the funds to essential infrastructure costs, including messaging (SMS) usage and backend hosting, to support early growth and ensure a smooth, scalable experience as we onboard more businesses. Overall, the goal is to use this capital to prove traction, refine the product, and establish repeatable growth channels that position YepBook for the next stage of scaling.
