About this idea
JustAir was founded with the belief that no matter what community one is born into it is their right to a life of breathing clean air. We are committed to the communities that we monitor and unlike other air quality monitoring companies we aim to be a generational partner to deliver generational impact. While it is known air pollutants are harmful to health, many communities today do not have a clear grasp of what pollutants impact their breathing environment. Furthermore, even within a city many leaders do not have clear visibility of the health disparities with regards to air quality. JustAir provides local air pollution monitoring solutions to cities to bring greater transparency into the disparities of air quality among our communities. With proper visibility from JustAirā€™s neighborhood-level air quality monitors, local leaders can more accurately identify sources of pollutants and thus develop data-driven solutions in order to protect the breathing environment for our most vulnerable groups.
Impact
We exist to protect the 20,000 breaths a person takes on average in a day, where the quality of life is largely determined by where those breaths are taken. Unfortunately for many underserved communities who are often overexposed to heavy trucking traffic and industrial activity, those 20,000 breaths a day tend to work against their wellbeing. JustAir was founded with the belief that no matter what community one is born into it is their right to a life of breathing clean air. We are committed to the communities that we monitor, and unlike other air quality monitoring alternatives, we aim to be a generational partner to support generational improvements of the air we breathe.
What I'll do with $5,000
JustAir will use the $5,000 to sponsor two sensors in one neighborhood of interest.
