About this idea
These are handmade by me with the use of a handheld tufting machine and yarn. I am also trying to startup party dates/date nights where people can come and make their own with my assistance. No two rugs are identical unless personally requested. Never have to wonder how to make a room come together. Take all of the colors in your space and make the perfect conversation piece rug.
Impact
People enjoy being able to have one of a kind things. Calder City Tuft allows individuals uniqueness to come alive without restriction or wonder of how someone else may view it. The option to potential help make the rug builds and boosts confidence and allows individuals to escape the distractions and clutter of their own mind/outside world and be in a free zen like space that. Focusing on nothing but your creation.
What I'll do with $5,000
The $5000 would allow me to build extra frames in various sizes to create the rugs on. I would be able to purchase extra tufting machines for class participants to use. I would be able to invest in 2 extra machines 1 for making longer pile (shaggy rugs) and 1 for low pile (flatter) rugs. Digital art vectorizing software would be purchased to allow me to better digitally create color coded designs for image transferring (for creating portrait style rugs). Lastly, I would also be able to purchase a vendor license for two Greek organizations, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. as a pilot group for a potential Divine Nine custom rug expansion. There are currently no Collegiate Greek Organization specific Custom Rug makers. This could be the power move and traction I need for further advancement.
