About this idea
The HBCU Club of Muskegon will assist scholars who are participating in the club with the HBCU history, admission process, financial aid/scholarship information, SAT preparation, Residential/Greek Life, education assistance, college prep tours, financial literacy workshops, life skills, team building activities, workforce development, and community mental health resources partnership. The HBCU Club of Muskegon members will enhance their self-esteem through positive goal setting, future career planning, and building a network of mentoring support systems.
Impact
The HBCU Club of Muskegon will uplift, rebuild, and foster positive relationships with community leaders, organizations, and businesses. To increase the academic achievement of our club members in school. The HBCU Club of Muskegon members will enhance their self-esteem through positive goal setting, future career planning, and building a network of mentoring support systems.
What I'll do with $5,000
The money will be used to assist HBCU Club members who are in college with tuition, books, transportation, meals, clothing, etc. The club will provide stipends to the guest speakers for our monthly workshops. Provide training sessions for our club members and mentors. Provide scholarship opportunities to HS Seniors and college students. To sponsor HBCU club members to attend and participate in a yearly college tour. To create radio ads, podcast series, and information videos on Historical Black Colleges and Universities.

Tarra is the President/Founder of the HBCU Club of Muskegon, LLC. The HBCU Club of Muskegon promotes college preparation programs and services to West Michigan area students in grade 7th-college. The purpose of the HBCU Club of Muskegon is to know the foundational aspects of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. HBCU Club of Muskegon, LLC has sent over 20 students from the West Michigan area to 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities since 2019.
