About this idea
Revel Lifestyle Thriftique provides an affordable shopping experience for individuals who are environmentally and economically conscious. A Thriftique because we are a thrift store mixed with the exclusive elements you get when shopping at boutiques. We sell new and gently used items. Our items are donated and purchased at a discounted rates, we handpick, wash and sanitize our items, so they are ready to wear off the rack. We look to scale into the buy/sell concepts of the resale industry, and look to expand into men's and boy's clothing. All our inventory is turned over after one season and donated to a local high school and currently looking for community organizations to donate to.
Impact
The environment and economy benefit most from my idea. 75% of US adults say they're concerned with the environment, but only 1 out of 5 actually shop resale items. Almost 100% of clothing is recyclable, but 85% ends up in landfills. Which can take 20 to 200 years to breakdown. With shopping resale, you are able to have a ever changing wardrobe that consist of quality goods without the large price tag. Revel's impact promotes being safe by washing and sanitizing our clothing, being smart by shopping resale which saves you money, and is beneficial to the environment because we are reducing the amount of waste going into landfills and slowing down the fast fashion industry.
What I'll do with $5,000
If I was awarded the $5,000 for my business I would purchase upgraded POS equipment in effort to list clothing and shoes online with better record keeping. Invest in advertising/marketing, business mentor/CPA and website upgrades. Stabilize our current inventory by purchasing dead stock inventory from local vendors, and secure vendor agreements through attending annual vendor showcases.
