About this idea
Apart from the unique design language of the Serpa handbag, inspired by nature and hypercars, The bag is developed similarly to how a hypercar is made. It is shaped with aluminum molds for its shape and strong interior case along with exquisite leather on the outside and inside of the bag, and the how you open it? it's all magnetic like a spaceship or cocoon will open. The bag is an idea of the future, today.
Impact
The Serpa has gained popularity in Paris Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week since it's debut in Detroit at Newlab @ Michigan Central, it has inspired the spirit of the city to bring fashion innovation out as the UNESCO Design City of America, It's a statement to the fashion and tech world from Michigan.
What I'll do with $5,000
The grant would be strategically used for product development, the mould cost is $6000 dollars as they are 18-inch double-side aluminium moulds, from one single mould, the first batch of bags would be ready for the first 100 influential creative leaders and the same mould would be used for all the bags, this is the state that will help to move forward from 2nd round of prototyping to product market launch.
