About this idea
MooZoo Slime Shop isn’t just about slime it’s about transforming play into hands-on STEM learning for kids of all ages. Our Slime Bar lets participants build their own slime by choosing textures, colors, scents, and charms. While they’re having fun, they’re also learning about polymers, chemical reactions, non-Newtonian fluids, and measurement all core science concepts. We also host STEM workshops where kids explore slime science in a structured way: making hypotheses, testing textures, and discovering how chemistry and physics affect their creations. For children with sensory sensitivities, slime-making doubles as a calming and confidence-building activity. What makes MooZoo truly unique is our combination of education, creativity, and entrepreneurship. At community markets and festivals, our 7-year-old CEO, Luna-Belle, shows that kids themselves can be business leaders. Families don’t just buy slime they experience the joy of creating it, learning from it, and connecting as a community. We envision MooZoo growing into a traveling STEM experience bringing slime bars and workshops to schools, libraries, museums, and festivals across West Michigan. Our “wow factor” is that participants leave not only with a jar of slime, but with new knowledge, confidence, and the sense that learning can be magical at any age.
Impact
MooZoo Slime Shop makes a meaningful impact by turning something kids already love "slime" into a powerful tool for STEM education, creativity, and community connection. At its core, MooZoo introduces kids of all ages to science through play. In our slime bars and workshops, children learn about polymers, non-Newtonian fluids, chemical reactions, and measurement in ways that are hands-on and fun. By mixing colors, scents, and textures, kids practice real problem-solving, make predictions, and see immediate results making STEM concepts exciting and accessible. MooZoo also creates inclusive learning opportunities. For children with sensory sensitivities, slime-making is not just a game it’s a calming, confidence-building activity that helps them engage in group learning in a safe and supportive way. Families often share how their children feel more comfortable exploring and expressing themselves through our workshops than in traditional classroom settings. Beyond science, MooZoo teaches creativity and entrepreneurship. Our CEO, Luna-Belle at just 7 years old shows other kids what’s possible when they turn their passions into opportunities. At markets and fairs, children experience firsthand what it means to build, share, and sell their own creations. Families don’t just leave with a jar of slime they leave inspired by the idea that kids can be leaders, innovators, and business owners too. The community impact goes even further. MooZoo has become a way for families to connect at festivals, schools, libraries, and museums. Parents participate alongside their children, creating special memories while reinforcing the value of learning. By partnering with local organizations, we’re helping bring engaging, educational programming into spaces where kids can thrive. In the long term, MooZoo is building a foundation for kids to see science, creativity, and entrepreneurship as fun, approachable, and possible. We believe that if kids can get excited about science a
What I'll do with $5,000
With $5,000, MooZoo Slime Shop would be able to take a huge step forward in making our vision a reality. A portion of the funding would go directly toward obtaining the licenses and certifications needed to grow our business and operate more widely. This will ensure that MooZoo is fully prepared to partner with schools, libraries, museums, and other community spaces in a professional and sustainable way. Another part of the funding would allow us to invest in a commercial-grade mixer, which is essential for producing slime more efficiently and at a higher quality. Right now, every batch is made by hand, which limits how much we can prepare at one time. A commercial mixer would allow us to scale production, meet demand at workshops and festivals, and maintain consistent quality for every child’s experience. If possible, we would also use part of this funding to begin the process of opening our own physical shop. A MooZoo storefront would give families a place to visit year-round, offering slime bars, STEM workshops, and retail slime experiences under one roof. This would not only provide a steady source of revenue but also create a permanent hub for creativity, education, and community connection. In short, $5,000 would help us move from a small, family-run concept to a licensed, professional, and scalable business. It would allow MooZoo to expand our reach, operate more efficiently, and create opportunities for even more kids to discover that learning can be magical.
