About this idea
Care Entree is a food services provider that prepares and delivers delicious, healthy and fresh meals made from high quality ingredients sourced from local farms and suppliers. We offer businesses, apartments, healthcare facilities and universities a full service solution to provide their employees, residents, and students access to on demand fresh and healthy meals, beverages and snacks with convenient and contactless onsite smart fridges.
After trying to find a meal prep service for his family, our founder Damon Wolfe, grew frustrated with the lack of freshness, flavor and overall quality. He had worked his entire career in restaurants and food service but enjoyed cooking recipes from different cuisines packed with flavor and spices. He realized quickly that often times these meals were loaded with whole food ingredients and that with a few simple substitutions could be made even healthier. Since he couldn't find what he was looking for he decided to create it from scratch. It started with a
simple promise that if you can make healthy food delicious and convenient, people would eat healthier.
The demand for fresh and healthier food options has never been greater. At the same time, our lives are busier so finding the time to shop and prepare our own meals is a challenge. When people choose food based on convenience they are most often sacrificing freshness and nutritional value.
Sadly, the Standard American Diet (SAD) hasn’t served us wellness. Our population is overrun with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and other ailments. It has become evident that processed foods containing high levels of preservatives, sugars and unhealthy oils are responsible for causing inflammation and digestive issues.
We also hope to generate support to our community by giving back. We intend to donate any food items that do not sale to organizations of our community in need. Additionally, as we grow we would like to install our smart fridges in low income locations where there aren't an abundance of healthy food options. We would like to subsidize the cost of the meals through different programs to have the cost be comparable to a five dollar meal at a fast food restaurant.
What I'll do with $5,000
We would utilize the $5,000 to purchase a smart fridge from our technology provider so that we could offer commercial service to companies, healthcare facilities and universities. I know that our branding and marketing may make us appear like a well off and established brand. The truth is that we have boot strapped this business every step of the way to this point with our own personal funds and a small loan. I personally built our website after learning to use WordPress and taught Adobe programs. This money would help get us into taking orders and producing in the kitchen.
