Fatherhood Academy

The Fatherhood Academy would provide a week-long conference for fathers in the community. The conference will cover much needed topics such as Co-parenting, reunification, Child Support, Financial Literacy and others.

About this idea
Fathers will attend the conference to not only be educated in the areas above but also to give real life insight to others. Father sometimes struggle in these areas because of lack of resources, knowledge of resources and ego. This conference will create a safe welcoming environment with real connections, resources and follow-up. We will also have community resource tables that will address other areas in fatherhood. Each participant will receive a small stipend and certificate of completion. To ensure that father who have daycare issues are able to attend we will provide care while they are in session.
Impact
The conference will benefit fathers from all walks of like who may be struggling on their journey or just need some encouragement to keep being awesome. This conference will also help father to build a network of fathers who they can reach out to and connect with for support. The true benefiters of the conference will be the children of the fathers due to the improved skills, ability and positive interactions with their father after the conference.
What I'll do with $5,000
I will use the money for facilitators, venue, materials, transportation, childcare and participant stipends.
