About this idea
I took a mini girlā€™s trip with some close friends to get away, have some fun and connect. We love games and have tried every girlā€™s game on the market and never really enjoyed them fully. I thought it would be fun to write out a couple of questions on small index cards to help us open up and encourage vulnerability. We ended up playing this on the first night while making dinner and to my surpriseā€¦this simple activity was able to assist and help us not only laugh, but cry and build more meaningful relationships with one another. From that point, Girly Pop! was born into a full series card game meant to build your tribe.
Impact
Our hope is for players to share thoughts and feelings openly and respectfully with those closest to them. Girly Pop!ā€™s purpose is to bring awareness and healing and most of all itā€™s to have fun. The card game not only turns a dull night into an entertaining one but also introduces a unique feature that assists players in exploring oneā€™s emotions. Each card offers a question paired with a ā€œTherapist Thoughtā€ that encourages positive self-reflection (something people struggle with every single day). With mental health and wellness at the forefront, Girly Pop! can help people heal and bond with others while having a blast with your besties.
What I'll do with $5,000
The theme, design, mechanics and player experience have been tested and resolved. We have received quotes from multiple manufacturers and have identified one that can deliver the product in 90 days. The money will help us expedite the product into a playable prototype, assist in setup of the back-end logistics, SKU management and attorney fees.
