About this idea
As the owner of a small business for desserts like macarons and crème brûlée, I noticed that I found it difficult to be accessible and discoverable to all potential customers in my area. Spessle allows customers to search and have access to every small business in their city at their fingertips. They can also view a businesses' products, purchase, message and track orders. Businesses can manage inventory, orders, advertising and invoices all in one place too! There's nothing better than an extra beautiful, handmade gift or that special touch your party might need. Make your day extra special with Spessle!
Impact
Everyone has a side hustle these days. Small businesses (especially ones from home) are popping up like crazy since the pandemic, and they haven't stopped... yet they don't have a good enough platform to market and organize themselves! Social media is not enough. Small businesses deserve to be easily accessible by every customer that wants to shop from them. Relying on word of mouth or followers isn't the way to run a business. A customer should be able to find a specific, specialized item that can only be made by a small business by a simple search, not just "asking around". Spessle solves this problem for every business and customer. Customers will have access to every business and product sorted by location after a search is completed, and now it'll be easier than ever to order pick up a desired product nearby instead of running to the store instead. At-home businesses generate over $50 billion a year for our country's economy.
What I'll do with $5,000
I'm using the $5,000 to help fund the development of the application. I'm building it by myself, but the infrastructure costs of development and hosting are very costly. I also plan to use the money to help market my beta version and get as many small businesses and consumers on the app as possible! The $5,000 would be a game changer for Spessle.
