About this idea
I create landscape designs for homeowners to install themselves. The service includes digital designs, a detailed plant list to shop with and labeled images to assist in plant placement. I meet onsite with the homeowner to discuss their goals and ideas for the space, I take photos which I use to create digital designs, in addition, I consider soil type and light when choosing the appropriate plants for each site.
Impact
Homeowners are looking for a beautiful landscape, which increases the value of the home and provides beautiful curb appeal. Many homeowners are not sure where to begin to create a design, but are looking to save money and do the work themselves. By using my service, they also become educated on the plant material including care and maintenance. This service helps to beautify neighborhoods for homeowners that may not have been able to afford to hire a landscape company and may know nothing about plants or design.
What I'll do with $5,000
I would like to expand my service area to other cities. Currently I service West Michigan. Phase 1 - I would like to move into the Lansing area initially by being involved in the Mid-Michigan Home and Garden Show and to generate marketing in the Lansing areas to grow the business. Phase 2 - I will move to the Traverse City area.
