Impact
Urban farming is a new way to approach how a community does food. By focusing on sustainable, small scale operations we are able to create a large impact. Our smaller size reduces the negative environmental consequences associated with large scale farming, we control exactly what goes into our food so that we know our customers receive the highest quality products, and there is virtually no waste as the byproducts of one process are used to fuel another and because we are members of the community we are able to build relationships with people and provide a greater connection between them and their food, this will be especially helpful to underserved communities that may struggle with access to fresh, high quality food.
What I'll do with $5,000
If we receive the $5,000 we would use half of the money to obtain additional equipment to grow a greater number and also variety of Microgreens along woth starting some processes such as hydroponics. The other half would go towards being able to develope a program that can be implemented in the school system to get kids involved in being connected with their food from an early age and on a way that they can easily do it at home.
